In class, we had to write a sonnet just like the amazing William Shakespeare! My topic was "hands and/or feet!" So, for my sonnet, I have decided to make it about gentle hands of a mother, father, and child! Writing a sonnet is very hard, considering all the rules. Such as, the rhyming scheme (ABABCDCDEFEFGG) and it has to be 10 syllables per line. Any who...
ENJOY!!!
Gentle Hands
Soft fingertips rub gently up and down
Looking at herself, she sees a big lump
Thinking about it, she smiles and then frowns
Resting her hands on her nine month old bump
Sitting, she grasps her husband's gentle palm
Breathing and waiting for the excitement
She thinks, "Am I ready to be a mom?"
She hears a cry and she knew what that meant
Out comes a baby with eyes open wide
She looks at her gracious, loving mother
With eyes as blue as the ocean's riptide
She knew she had a mom like to other
She gets startled and begins to cry and
Her mom calms her and grabs her gentle hands
